Activity 1: The First Settlers

It is widely believed that the first people to arrive in New Zealand came from Polynesia. Most historians believe that they landed in New Zealand over 700 years ago. Although they were originally from many different countries, these settlers learned to live together and, eventually, formed their own distinct culture known as ‘Māori.’  Māori have their own language, traditions, and culture.

Follow this link to read a short story about a famous man in Māori mythology – Maui. On your blog, post three facts that you learned about this interesting man. What other stories have you heard about Maui?

 1. Māui took a jawbone which his ancestor Murirangawhenua had given him.

2. Maui caught a fish that his grandmother Murirangawhenua said will be gifted to them.

3. Māui's giant fish became known as the North Island of Aotearoa, and Māui's canoe the South island.

4.Another Story of Maui that I have heard about was Maui and the Sun when Maui and his brothers made flax ropes and pulled the sun down so it can slow down.

Activity 2: Setting Sail

The first settlers to come to New Zealand must have been really brave! They had to leave their original homes and sail thousands of miles across the ocean on a special boat called a ‘waka’ to reach New Zealand.

Imagine that you were on board one of the wakas. On your blog, write a short letter to a friend telling them about your voyage to New Zealand. In the letter be sure to tell them how you feel about moving to a new country. If it was me, I would have felt really nervous…

I was so terrified because the so many waves and one almost flipped the boat I terrified after that it was super windy so I was freezing then I catch a cold because it was to cold and then everyone else catched a cold and then we saw some so we tried to get them but we were to sick.

 I have read page 157- 200 and this is what happen.
Slightly younger Tippy grabbed everyone and then he went with them but then George and Harold snapped their fingers because they recognised that Mr. Krupp was full of ice and their was not water on him . After that  Captain Underpants pulled his pants off. Then Captain Underpants saved all of them after that Captain Underpants was getting up because they travelled in the future and because Slightly younger Tippy slashed water on his head. When they were in the future George and Harold saw Mr. Krupp but the future version and they snapped their fingers and then he was Captain Underpants. After that they saw the past Mr. Krupp and they snapped their fingers again and then they both beat up Slightly younger Tippy. So he got out a bomb and then he said it can blow up the whole galaxy.

I have read page 63-92 and this is what happen.
Captain Underpants got caught by Big Tippy and slightly older Tippy turned into Supa Mega Tippy and then he killed Big Tippy and then they went into six million year forward in to the future after that they got caught.

On Monday I got 64 (WPM) and on Friday I got 71 (WPM) . I am getting better because I am practising more on typing.com and I was not mucking around.

George and Harold bought extra spicy ghost pepper pizza because they knew that kipper and his friends will steal it and they did when they stole their tongue were burning like it just touched the sun and then George and Harold made their lockers scary and they put a comic book about Wedgie Magee. After that when they knew about it they were frighten.

George and Harold stole all of the lunch money that Kipper stole and bought all the kindergarteners pizza and they loved but Kippers was asking the Kids who knows Wedgie Magee but no one knew and the person who delivered the pizza said his name was Wedgie something.After that Kipper was worried then George and Harold did the something but they put dresses in his locker.

My result for Friday is 27/40 stage 8 and my result for Monday is 38/40. I am getting better because I have moved up a stage because when I was on stage seven I got 38/40 two times in a row and I got 39/40 tree times in a row so that why I moved up a stage . I have to work on my Fraction Size, Place value,Percentages,Fractions,Decimals,Factors,Multiples.

George beat up Kipper and his friends and Mr. Krupp knew so they George and Harold was in detention. After that they made comic books and became best friends they were making plan to prank Kipper and his friends. After that they went toilet and pretend someone was there.

Melvin got furious and he was destroying everything thing and then Mrs . Anthrope said stop this or else you will be in detention so Melvin grabbed her and held her tight. So George and Harold clicked their finger and Mr. Krupp was Captain Underpants he got eaten because he got turned back to normal because Mrs. Anthrope kissed him and it was wet and slobbery so he got turned back to normal and he got eaten. So Sulu the pet beat him up. After that they turned him back to normal by reversing the wires and the combine machine and it worked but the snotty bits were still alive.

Word problem slides

I have been learning about addition and subtraction word problems on IXL a maths site.
For example if a question was there was 2,437 ducks and 4,716 more ducks came how many altogether I would of broke it up to thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. After that I would of added it up altogether and it will equal 7,153.

My poem is about my cricket experience at school, Before I wrote this poem I had options to choose, and I chose haiku, the reason why I chose a haiku was because I really like using syllables when I do poems, and because I think it is really simple to use.

Melvin was angry when he read the comic book that George and Harold made about him so he made a robot and made his machine he made and combined him with it but on the last second he sneezed so he was a snooty robot. After that when he went school he always sneezed and it when on students. So the next day everyone came with a coat and a umbrella they went on a trip to a tissue place but the snooty robot doesn't like tissues and he got angry cause the manager threw tissues at him and he got furious.

The wicked wedgie women made two robots they look exactly like George and Harold but they were robots. Whenever they heard Tra-la-laaa they would stretch and become big and spray something on Captain Underpants and he will lose his powers and he did. So George and Harold escaped and helped him and made a new comic.

My Cricket Recount

MY FIRST GAME AND WIN ON CRICKET AT SCHOOL!!!

On a fine Tuesday morning I was playing dodge ball the bell went DING! DING! . I was still playing dodge ball so I began to run to the courts . I just started to warmup.

As I was running I saw the cricket coach Sahl. I asked if he played for the black caps he said yes but I knew he was joking. We started he said we are going to do batting and catching. He said when we catch we put both pinkies across each other and I had to be partners with Diego. We had to get twenty like what coach Sahl said and we did.

After that we had to get in teams I was in Laki’s first we were fielding whenever they hit the ball most of the time it came to me.So every time I get it I always throw it to the person who is the closest to it.After that we were batting I was second to last It was me and Solomone when it was our turn I was look for the spaces they were not at so I hit it and then we did three runs.It was the Captains turn BANG!!!! we  win Yayyyyyyy I round around like a psychopath.
I really enjoyed todays kiwi sport I hope we have fun next week.

Sara made a beautiful painting but Jed ruined it by drawing a smiley face on it. Jed got grounded he couldn't go to the movies and he couldn't play video games for a week.Sarah said that's not enough but the mum said stay out of it and Jed said yeah stay out of it and he stomped to his room. Sara said why did Jed do this to this work of art. At Jed's room he was making a lot of noise and he was tossing every thing around.

Zack the Zombie went to the temple biome with Steve and the guys. There was a danger sign and it was for humans but Skelee didn't know if it was for zombies and skeleton. They went look for the emerald it can make any wish of yours they went and there was a ancient skeleton language. Skelee could understand it, Steve found the emerald in a treasure box and he wished to be a zombie and Zack the zombie turned into a human and Steve looked like Zack the Zombie. Skelee said the ancient skeleton language said be careful when you make a wish because something might go wrong. So they ran back outside and Zack the Zombie said Steve has to go to his house and Zack has to stay somewhere else.

Zack Zombie goes to Disneyland with Skeele and the guys and Zack the Zombie was very scared and Skeele and the guys but the person they expected to be afraid was not afraid. So they went to the amusement park and they had lots of fun and then after that Zack and his dad went to the Jungle gym and Zacks mum called  and said that Zacks little brother is lost. But then she found him and Zack and his dad went back home.
