At technology, we did experiment where we collected leaves from outsides and drained out the pigment from them. The leaves pigment didn't fully drain but you could definitely see that the color wasn't as bright as it was before. Something I learned was that leaves can open and close themselves. They open themselves for water and they close themselves before bacteria gets inside of them.
