Activity 1: Predator Free 2050 – A Call to Arms [4 points]
On your blog, tell us which one of the videos you liked the best and why.
The third video was my favorite because they were protecting Kiwis and kiwis are native to New Zealand.
Activity 2: Protecting the Most Vulnerable - Fact or Fiction? [4 points]
On your blog, post three facts that you learned about the Māui Dolphin. Then, using your imagination, create three more statements about Māui dolphins that are not true (i.e. false). Please don’t tell us which of your statements about Māui Dolphins are true and which are false. It will be the job of the students and staff who read your blog to figure it out.
They are the smallest Dolphin species.
They close to being extinct.
They look identical to the Hector dolphin.

Hi Christopher
ReplyDeleteI also really enjoyed watching that video. Kiwis are on of my favourite animals and I'm always happy to see conservation efforts centred around them. What is your favourite part of the video?
Thanks for sharing your three facts about the Māui Dolphin. I think they are such a special creature. I would love to see them in the wild one day. Did you have a go at coming up with three false facts? If I had to make up three facts they would be:
1) Māui dolphins can make over 500 different chirping sounds.
2) Māui dolphins glow in the dark.
3) Māui dolphins carry their babies for 2 years.
Your list of animals and plants that you would save is interesting. I would love to know some of the reasons that you have picked each thing on your list.
I can't wait to hear back from you with your reply!
Bye for now.
